Australia Online Travel Guide

Australia's biggest attraction is its natural beauty. The landscape varies from endless sunbaked horizons to dense tropical rainforest to chilly southern beaches. Scattered along the coasts, its cities blend a European enthusiasm for art and food with a laid-back love of sport and the outdoors.

Visitors expecting to see an opera in Sydney one night and meet Crocodile Dundee the next will have to re-think their grasp of geography in this huge country. It is this sheer vastness that gives Australia and its diverse population much of its character.

If you've vowed to return to Australia year after year, then consider timeshare. When you buy a timeshare you'll be able to spend one year in Sydney then trade it the following year for a great location in Perth. There are hundreds of owners willing to sell timeshares on the resale market, where you'll garner a better purchase price than most direct buy options.

When To Go

The best time to visit Australia is anytime - nearly. From December to February it does become uncomfortably hot for those not used to it. During this same time Tasmania, off the Southeast coast, has a farmore temperate climate. While the south enjoys a summer season, the north experiences a hot, wet season. To experience the best of the north, travel here from June to August, when the weather is a little easier on visitors, less humid and a little cooler. This is a great time to visit Queensland and perhaps take a walkabout in the outback. Southern Australians often travel here to escape cold climates.

Of course, if you're looking for some fantastic skiing, you'll want to be in the south, Victoria in fact. With a variety of snowy terrains to choose from, Mt. Thredbo is the place to visit. From the gently traversing the bunny hill to zooming up the most challenging hill on a quad chair - you'll find slopes to please all skill levels.

The land of Australia is an exquisite gem all by itself. From the sun-baked horizons to the unexpected tropical rainforest to the cool beaches in the south, you'll find this country a real, natural beauty. Australia has a laid-back reputation but is able to at once offer comfort with all the cosmopolitan offerings of art and culture to rival the best European cities. For outdoor enthusiasts too, this is a paradise.

Many say the best time to visit Australia is during the spring or the fall. The weather is pleasant and local flowers are in full bloom, so bring your camera. Particular regions to visit are the Victorian Alps or Canberra - they offer unparalleled beauty. One last travel advisory, however, is to avoid the chaos of holidaymakers during the Easter season. The roads are overwhelmingly crowded.
